Government Affairs
The committee meets on the first Wednesday of the month to discuss legislative matters affecting the business of real estate on local and state levels. They work with key legislative contacts and coordinate "Calls to Action" to state legislators and local city and county officials. They also attend the annual REALTOR® Hill visit held in Olympia each January.

Whatcom County Association of REALTORS® attended the 2010 Legislative Day on January 21, 2010. Here, the attendees are seen with Rep. Doug Ericksen (42nd Dist.) following our meeting where we discussed Climate Change initiatives, taxation of sales commissions, and Appraiser Management Company licensing.
