The first part of this class will cover new Washington State legislation about ADUs, examples of different types of ADUs, challenges and obstacles for adding ADUs, evaluating properties for the potential of adding an ADU, costs and potential financial benefits and ways to finance ADUs, and potential for turning an ADU into a condo. The second part of this class will feature a panel of local subject matter experts for discussions about local code and permit changes and the process and building costs. Panel members are working professionals who are actively involved with ADUs, including local planning officials, experienced planning consultants, designers, builders, and lenders.
